Box Score 2 VIENNA, W.Va. – The D&E softball team swept Ohio Valley on Sunday afternoon. The Senators rolled to an 11-1 win in game one, and claimed a 2-0 decision in game two.
Katelyn Norton belted a two-run homer in the first inning. Amanda Serafini doubled home a run in the second, making the score 3-0. OVU got on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Serafini drove home one run in the fourth and Norton added a pair of RBI as the lead grew to 6-1. Kaitlyn Daugherty plated one in the fifth, while Serafini and Katelyn Norton each drove in two runs in the fifth, setting the 11-1 margin.
Amber LaBille (8-13) allowed one run on six hits with one strikeout.
In game two, an error put D&E in front, 1-0 in the fourth inning. Danielle Norton singled home a run in the fifth as D&E secured the 2-0 victory.
Alanna Jones (9-12) yielded only three hits while striking out six and walking four.
Davis & Elkins returns to Vienna on Thursday to open G-MAC Tournament play.
