Box Score 2 SALEM, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins and Salem International split a pair of conference games on Saturday morning. The Tigers won game one, 6-1 and D&E bounced back for a 7-2 victory in game two.
Salem scored three runs in the third inning, taking a 3-0 lead. Katelyn Norton got one run back in the fifth with a sacrifice fly. The Tigers put the game away with a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning.
Amber LaBille (7-14) surrendered six runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked three.
In game two, a SIU error led to a pair of runs crossing the plate in the second inning. Kaitlyn Daugherty and Katelyn Norton tacked on RBI singles as D&E grabbed a 4-0 lead. Samantha Smith doubled home a run in the third and Katelyn Norton drove in one one in the fourth as the lead grew to 6-0. The Tigers scored one in the bottom of the inning. Daugherty's second RBI of the day made the score 7-1in the fifth. Salem added one run in the sixth, setting the 7-2 margin.
Alanna Jones (8-12) gave up two runs on four hits, striking out three and walking a pair.
Davis & Elkins wraps up the regular season on Sunday at Ohio Valley. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
