ELKINS, W.Va. – Three first inning runs was all Fairmont State's starter Cody Butts needed, as the Falcons claimed a 4-1 victory.

FSU put together three base hits with two outs in the first inning, taking a 3-0 lead. Treavor Dubiel tripled home a run the third, making the score 3-1. The Falcons tacked on a run in the sixth, setting the 4-1 margin.

Zach Bradfield (0-4) worked one inning, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out one. Tyler Honeycutt tossed two scoreless innings, yielding one hit while striking out one and walking one. Michael Paratore tossed three innings, giving up one run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk. Marcus Warner hurled three scoreless innings, allowing two hits, while striking out two and walking one.
