Box Score MONTGOMERY, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins ended a six-game skid with an 8-3 victory over NAIA foe West Virginia Tech.
Travis Phelps put D&E on the scoreboard in the top of the first with a RBI single. Houston Darling plated a run in the third with a groundout. The Golden Bears scored a run in the bottom of the fourth. Treavor Dubiel doubled, plating Matt Moceri, and scored on an error, extending the Davis & Elkins advantage to 4-1. WVU-Tech trimmed the lead to 4-3 with a pair of runs in the sixth. Dubiel's third double of the afternoon scored Moceri in the seventh. Dubiel crossed the plate on a Ryan Dodson single and Dodson was doubled home by Bryant Hines. Dubiel added a sacrifice fly in the eighth, concluding the scoring.
Noah Jarboe (3-1) went the distance for the Senators, yielding three runs on nine hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Davis & Elkins now travels to Cedarville to begin a weekend set on Friday.
