Box Score THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Lock Haven scored a pair of runs in the top of the eighth to down D&E, 9-7 on Saturday.
William Kendick opened the scoring with a solo shot in the bottom of the first. Lock Haven scored seven runs on seven hits in the fifth to go in front 7-1. The Senators plated one on a RBI groundout by Moceri, and Dubiel notched a two-run single, cutting the deficit to 7-4 after five innings. Moceri delivered a three-run blast in the bottom of the seventh, sending the game to extra innings tied at 7-7. A bases-loaded free pass and a sacrifice fly scored LHU's two runs in the eighth. D&E got the tying run to the plate, but was unable to score, falling 9-7.
Zach Bradfield worked 4.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts and a walk. Forest Williamson gave up four runs on two hits and walked two. Brennan Dettinger hurled 1.2 innings, yielding two hits and striking out one. Christian Scott (0-1) suffered the loss, tossing 1.2 innings, surrendering two runs on a hit with three walks and a pair of strikeouts. Jake Smith registered the final out.
