Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ursuline ousted Davis & Elkins in the G-MAC quarterfinals by a score of 89-79.
Jorden Lykes finished with a double-double (19 points, 14 rebounds). Stephanie Wooten added 21 points and Ashley Bowles chipped in with 14.
Tajanee Wells poured in a game-high 31 points. Emma Ricketts (18), Laney Lewis (13) and Brianna Woods (11) also added double figures for the Arrows.
D&E held a 47-42 advantage on the glass. UC translated 21 Davis & Elkins turnovers into 26 points.
The Senators opened up a 13-6 advantage in the first half. The hot start was ignited by a three from Wooten. UC responded with a 10-3 sprint, knotting the game at 16-16. The game remained within a five-point margin the remainder of the half, as the teams went to the locker room deadlocked at 44-44.
Wells scored seven of Ursuline's first nine points, allowing the Arrows to take the lead for good on the opening possession of the second half. UC stretched its lead to 16 with a 15-3 surge, making the score 76-60 with just under eight minutes left. Bowles and Lykes scored the game's next nine points, cutting the deficit to 76-69. The Senators pulled to within six, but couldn't rally, falling by a final score of 89-79.
Thursday's loss brings an end to the outstanding careers of four seniors – Endi Frazier, Alicia Lentz, Ashley Magallanez and Lykes.
