BELMONT, N.C. – The Davis & Elkins softball team dropped a pair of 3-1 decisions to Belmont Abbey on Sunday.

A first inning error put D&E in front, 1-0. The Crusaders posted a two-run single in the fifth and added one run in the sixth to take the 3-1 win.

Alana Jones suffered the loss, allowing three runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

In game two, BAC scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to go in front, 3-0. A sacrifice fly by Chelsie Stover cut the deficit to 3-1 in the seventh, but Belmont Abbey came away with the 3-1 win.

Amber Labille allowed three runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking a pair.

The Senators return to the field on Wednesday at Southern Virginia.
