Box Score SALEM, Va. – The Davis & Elkins softball team recovered from an 0-2 start to the weekend, picking up their first two victories of the season over Edinboro (6-4) and East Stroudsburg (2-1)

Shippensburg 10, Davis & Elkins 1 (6 innings)
Solo home runs in the first and third innings put the Raiders on top 2-0. Katelyn Norton worked a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the third for D&E's lone run. Shippensburg added two in the fifth, and five in the sixth—including a three-run blast—to invoke the mercy rule.
Amber LaBille yielded seven runs on 11 hits with one strikeout in 5.1 innings. Autumn Appleby gave up three runs on one hit in two-thirds of an inning.
Davis & Elkins 6, Edinboro 4
Danielle Norton and Ashley Dove each registered RBI base hits in the first inning. Edinboro strung together three base hits to score a run in the top of the second. Samantha Smith added a two-run double as part of a four-run bottom half, extending the D&E advantage to 6-1. Senator errors in the fifth and sixth allowed Edinboro to get within two at 6-4, but D&E was able to hold on for the 6-4 victory.
Alana Jones tossed the complete game, surrendering four runs (one earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
