Box Score 2 ELKINS, W.Va. – Millersville used a pair of dominant pitching efforts to spoil Davis & Elkins' home-opener on Saturday. The Marauders claimed a 7-0 decision in game one, followed by a 16-1 win in game two.
MU scored single runs in the second, third and fourth to take a 3-0 lead in game one. The Marauders tacked on three in the fifth and one in the seventh to set the 7-0 margin. Seven Senator errors led to five of the seven runs.
Michael Paratore (0-1) suffered the loss, hurling 3.2 innings, yielding three runs (one earned) on two hits while walking five. Forest Williamson allowed four runs (one earned) on one hit with five strikeouts and a pair of walks in 3.1 innings of relief.
In game two, the Marauders wasted no time—generating six runs in the first and eight in the second—while batting around in both innings. Millersville added solo runs in the fifth and sixth before a RBI groundout by Logan Mongold prevented the Senators from being shutout.
Marcus Warner (0-3) surrendered 10 runs on seven hits with a pair of walks in one inning. Christian Scott allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits with a pair of strikeouts and two walks in one inning. Jake Smith hurled five innings, giving up two unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and five walks.
The Senators and Marauders wrap up their weekend series with a nine-inning game on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m.
