Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – All five Alderson Broaddus starters reached double figures as the Battlers downed Davis & Elkins 68-63 in overtime on Saturday.
Brian Dixon poured in a career-high 17 points. Devin Miller chipped in with 18 points and Kevin Bracy-Davis netted 11. Aleks Vasiljevic pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Thylas Perkins (18), Adam Kline (14), Malcolm Tatum (13), Ali Bilal (13) and Richard Lemon (10) accounted for all 68 points for AB. Lemon (6 rebounds) and Kline (11 rebounds) each finished with double-doubles.
Ante Cosic scored the afternoon's opening basket, but AB scored the next 10 points, opening up a 10-2 advantage. The Battlers expanded their lead to 23-9 with a 8-0 sprint, capped by an Ali Bilal three. Alderson Broaddus held a 32-18 lead at the break.
AB held D&E to season-lows in both points (18) and field goal percentage (27 percent) in the the opening 20 minutes. Alderson Broaddus registered a 23-14 rebounding margin and translated six offensive rebounds into eight second chance points. The Battlers made 4-of-9 threes in the first half, while D&E was 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.
A trio of Dixon threes ignited a 28-14 blitz by the Senators, putting D&E back on top, 46-45. Dixon's fourth three of the half made the score 52-48 in favor of D&E. AB managed to tie the game at 58-58 on a Kline tip-in, sending the game into overtime.
AB scored the first four points in the extra session and closed out the 68-63 win at the charity stripe.
Davis & Elkins will play Cedarville on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in the G-MAC Tournament in Philippi beginning next Thursday.
