Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Kayla Linkous hit a pair of free throws with three seconds left as Cedarville rallied from an 18-point deficit to claim a 69-68 win on Thursday evening.
Ashley Bowles (14), Ashley Magallanez (13) and Jorden Lykes (12) reached double figures for D&E.
Reagan Ryan (21) and Kayla Jenerette (20) combined for 41 points and made 8-of-14 shots from beyond the arc. Deborah Gordon added 12 points, while Linkous finished with 10.
The Senators held a 37-33 advantage on the glass.
Davis & Elkins buried five threes during a 22-4 surge, taking a 32-14 lead with five minutes remaining in the opening half. Cedarville answered with a 13-4 run, trimming the margin to 36-27 at the break.
D&E maintained a comfortable lead until four late threes from the combination of Jenerette and Ryan cut the advantage to one at 68-67. The Senators missed the front-end on a pair of bonus opportunities, setting the stage for Linkous' game-winning shots.
CU shot 63 percent (15-of-24) from the field in the second half, including 6-of-10 from three.
The Senators will look to get back in the win column on Saturday against Central State at 2 p.m.
