FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Davis & Elkins swim teams took to the pool for the final time in 2014 on Friday night at Fairmont State. The men's team fell to the Falcons, 110-75, while the women fell to California (Pa.) (104-82) and were edged by FSU, 82-81.
Kenya Paiz touched first in the 1000 freestyle (11:22.09), 200 individual medley (2:21.79) and the 500 freestyle (5:27.84). Chelsea Faris earned a runner-up swim in the 200 freestyle, setting a school record at 2:04.07. Faris also won the 100 butterfly (1:04.07). Brooke Bielecki took home the top spot in the 50 freestyle (25.96)
Austin Pillado finished first in 1000 freestyle with a school record time of 10:16.55. He also claimed the top spot in the 500 freestyle (5:02.48). Ty Montemoino topped the competition in the 50 freestyle (22.39).
The D&E swim teams return to the pool on January 23 against Frostburg State at the George A. Myles Pool.
