Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd overcame first half struggles, putting up 57 points in the second half to run away from Davis & Elkins, 91-79 on Wednesday night.
Juwan Strothers paced D&E with 22 points. Wesley Sprinkle scored 15 points and Kevin Bracy-Davis added 10. Aleksandar Vasiljevic ripped down 10 rebounds.
Morgan McDonald poured in 31 points to lead the Rams. Austin Cunningham finished with 17 points and 10 assists. A.J. Carr (14) and Steffen Davis (10) also reached double figures for SU.
D&E opened up a 17-8 lead in the first half behind eight points from Strothers. The Rams responded with a 9-0 run, capped by a traditional three-point play by Cunnigham, to trim the deficit to 24-23. The Senators held a slim 36-34 advantage at the break.
Shepherd seized control early in the second half, scoring 22 of the first 31 points to pull ahead, 56-45. The Rams would lead by as many as 17 on their way to the 91-79 victory.
The Senators return home on Saturday to close 2014 against Ohio Mid-Western at 4 p.m.
