Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Ashley Bowles registered a career-high 24 points, leading Davis & Elkins to a 94-69 victory over Penn State-Beaver on Saturday.
Bowles narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with a team-high nine rebounds. Sharmaine Baker added 11 points.
"We are continuing to develop our chemistry and gain a better understanding of each person's role," Coach Jason Asbell said. "We are very happy to earn the win and we hope to build off of it as we move toward conference play."
PSU-B's Cassandra Flowers finished with 10 points and a game-best 18 rebounds. Brittany Mineard (14), Brittany Jackson (12) and Sydnee Abernathy (11) also reached double figures in points for the Nittany Lions.
D&E converted 25 PSU-B turnovers into 29 points. The Senators held a slight 50-45 advantage on the glass.
The first five minutes of the contest went back-and-forth before a 14-0 blitz by D&E made the score 23-8. The Senators continued to build on their advantage, taking a 40-18 margin to the locker room.
Davis & Elkins would lead by as many as 36 in the second half on their way to the 94-69 win.
The Senators begin a seven-game road trip on Tuesday at West Virginia Tech.
