Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins made 15-of-19 attempts (79 percent) from the field in the second half to rally for a 76-64 win over Lock Haven on Saturday.
Aleksandar Vasiljevic led D&E with 21 points, posting 20 points after halftime on 8-of-8 shooting from the field. Vasiljevic also added eight rebounds. Juwan Strothers added 14 points (10 in the second half). Rickenjee Bellevue finished with a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds).
LHU's Walli Hepburn led all scorers with 22 points. Bootsie Walker added 10 points.
For the game, Davis & Elkins shot 57 percent (25-of-44) while limiting Lock Haven to 32 percent (18-of-57). The Senators made the most of their 28 trips to the charity stripe, converting on 23 (82 percent). D&E held a slight 34-31 advantage on the glass.
D&E pulled out to a 10-4 lead early in the first half. The Bald Eagles gained their first lead at 23-19 following a 9-0 run ignited, by a traditional three point play from Theo West. LHU held a 28-23 advantage at the half.
Lock Haven opened up a 14-point lead with a 15-4 sprint in the second half, making the score 52-38. Davis & Elkins went on a furious 20-4 blitz behind eight points from Vasiljevic, going in front 58-56. The Senators didn't let up from there rolling, on to the 76-64 victory.
D&E travels to Shawnee State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
