Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins scored 53 second half points, pulling away from Ohio Christian, 91-49 on Wednesday evening.
Ashley Bowles netted 19 points, sinking 5-of-6 shots from beyond the arc. Sharmaine Baker registered 15 points, while Stephanie Wooten narrowly missed a double-double with 12 points and nine assists. Tajee Pledger ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Shekinah Alexander led the Trail Blazers with 16 points.
"It was an excellent team win, and, although we still have numerous things we need to improve on, our team played unselfishly; I also liked our effort and energy level," coach Jason Asbell said "I am immensely proud of our seniors, they showed great leadership tonight. We just have to keep getting better on a daily basis."
Davis & Elkins dominated on the glass, posting a 62-29 difference. D&E translated 22 offensive rebounds into 22 second chance points. The Senators held OCU to 26.2 percent (16-of-61) from the field.
Bowles nailed back-to-back threes to spark the Senators to a 25-10 lead. D&E went to the locker room in front 38-23.
Davis & Elkins ran away in the second half, ending the contest with a score of 91-49.
D&E returns to the court on Saturday against Penn State-Beaver at 2 p.m.
