ELKINS, W.Va. – Shepherd connected on nine threes in the second half to rally past Davis & Elkins, 75-73 on Wednesday evening.

Kevin Bracy-Davis led D&E with 19 points. Juwan Strothers (17), Rashad Parker (12) and Wesley Sprinkle (11) also finished in double digits for the Senators. Alex Vasiljevic pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Shepherd's Morgan McDonald (22) and Garrett Burkhead (19) combined for 41 points, and made 9-of-14 attempts from three. Ryan McTavish (11) and Austin Cunningham (10) added double-figures as well.

Davis & Elkins held a decisive 42-26 advantage on the glass. D&E turned the ball over 17 times, compared to nine for the Rams. The Senator bench outscored SU's bench 25-5.

SU snuck out to a 12-6 lead in the opening five minutes. D&E responded with a 9-0 jolt, ignited by a three from Strothers to go in front 15-12. Davis & Elkins led the remainder of the half, taking a 33-27 advantage to the locker room.

The Senator lead quickly grew to 10 at 40-30, following a three from Sprinkle. A trio of threes sparked a 13-6 blitz by the Rams, making the score 46-43. D&E responded with an 11-3 surge to take their largest lead of the night at 57-46. Shepherd countered with a 9-0 sprint, pulling within two at 57-55. Bracy-Davis buried a three, pushing the D&E lead to 67-60 with five minutes to play. The Rams sank three shots from beyond the arc to pull in front 70-69, and would put the game away at the charity stripe to secure the 75-73 win.

Davis & Elkins returns to action on Saturday against Lock Haven at 4 p.m.
