Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Sixth-seeded Alderson Broadus advanced to the G-MAC semi-finals with a 2-0 win over third-seeded Davis & Elkins on a cold, rainy Saturday.
Olivia Augustine got past the D&E defense and scored with under three minutes remaining in the first half. Augustine added insurance for the Battlers with a penalty kick in the 86th minute, making the score 2-0.
Ashley Winkelspecht made one save in the game.
AB held a slight 6-4 advantage in shots, placing three on goal to just one for D&E.
Alderson Broaddus will face Trevecca on Thursday.
Saturday's loss is the final chapter in the outstanding careers of Winkelspecht, Laia Dordas and Emma Davis.
