Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – West Virginia Tech broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes to down Davis & Elkins, 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Declan McGill put the Senators on top in the 18th minute with a goal off of a Wyatt Hill corner kick. Tech's Jose Segarra notched the equalizer in the 35th minute. The game remained tied 1-1 until Alex Pastor found the back of the net with just under nine minutes to play. Joao Gigli added an insurance goal three minutes later, setting the 3-1 margin.
WVU-T held a 16-9 advantage in shots, placing 10 on goal to four for the Senators. The game was marred by 20 fouls and six cards.
Daniel Nock made seven saves on the afternoon.
D&E faces Alderson Broaddus on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. as part of Homecoming. The game will also be Senior Day for four Senator Soccer student-athletes.
