Box Score PHILIPPI, W.Va. – James Pucci scored a pair of first half goals to lead Davis & Elkins to a 2-1 victory over rival Alderson Broaddus on Sunday afternoon.
Pucci's first tally came just over a minute into the game, providing D&E with an early 1-0 lead. Pucci scored again five minutes before intermission to push the lead to 2-0 at the half. The Battlers' Jose Noriega cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 60th minute, but that was all the offense AB could muster.
Davis & Elkins held a 10-8 advantage in shots, including a 5-2 margin in shots on goal.
Cameron Rivera recorded one save in the win.
D&E returns to action on Thursday, as they host Kentucky Wesleyan at 4 p.m.
