ELKINS, WV -The Davis & Elkins softball team defeated first place Fairmont State 2-1 in the first game of the day to earn a split with the Falcons at the Joni Smith Softball Field.

GAME ONE

Alanna Jones earned the win on the mound as D&E prevailed 2-1.  Jones struck out four as the Falcons scored their only run of the game in the first inning.

Mallory Wishard led the offense as she went 2-for-3 with a solo home run.  Kaitlyn Daugherty finished 1-for-2 and Kayla Whoolery was 1-for-3.

GAME TWO

The Senators dropped the nightcap 9-4 Autumn Appleby took the loss on the mound.  Chelsie Stover finished 1-for-3 and Chelsa Graham went 1-for-1.

The Senators host Alderson-Broaddus Saturday in a doubleheader that starts at 4 p.m.
