INSTITUTE, WV -The Davis & Elkins softball team earned a split at West Virginia State on Sunday, winning the first game 5-1 and dropping the second game 17-6.
GAME ONE
Alanna Jones pitched one of the best games of the season to lead the Senators to a 5-1 upset over the Yellow Jackets. Jones allowed just one run and struck out three to earn the win.
Samantha Crabtree, Katelyn Norton, Mallory Wishard, and Kayla Whoolery each collected a hit for D&E.
GAME TWO
Autumn Appleby took the loss on the mound as D&E fell 17-6.
Jenifer Kennon and Mallory Wishard had two hits each and Kayla Whoolery was 1-for-3 with a home run.
