Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – The D&E men's basketball team moved to 6-2 following an 87-70 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg.
Devin Miller registered 28 points and eight rebounds. Bruce Komakech posted 17 points, four assists and three blocks. Alex Visiljevic tallied a double-double (10 points, 12 rebounds). Juwan Strothers added 14 points and Wesley Sprinkle chipped in with 11 points.
Irving Cato (17), Lakuan McPhaul (13) and Chris Calvin (10) all reached double figures for VUL.
D&E shot 52 percent (35-of-67) from the field, and out-rebounded the Dragons 37-31. The Senators scored 56 points in the paint and generated 31 points off the bench.
Davis & Elkins broke open a 15-14 game with a 12-3 jolt to take a 27-17 lead. Komakech ignited the run with a dunk. D&E's lead swelled to as many as 13, prior to taking a 36-25 lead at the break.
D&E opened up a 46-29 advantage in the second half, but VUL chipped away with an 18-6 sprint and closed the gap to 52-47. Cato scored 10 of the 18 points. The Senators put the game away with a 19-6 surge late to seal the 87-70 win.
