OWENSBORO, Ky. – UMSL used a late first half surge to down Davis & Elkins, 80-61 on Sunday.

Ashley Magallanez registered a season-high 16 points.

The Tritons were led by Devonna Smith's double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds). Alexis Lawrence and Kelly Kunkel added 14 points apiece.

Missouri-St. Louis shot 45 percent from the field (25-of-56), while limiting D&E to 33 percent (19-of-57). The Tritons held a 39-33 advantage on the glass.

UMSL opened up a 16-8 lead in the first half. D&E answered with a 13-5 jolt ignited by a trio of threes from Sharmaine Baker, Hannah Carl and Endi Frazier—cutting the deficit to 23-21. The Tritons scored 13 of the final 17 points in the half to take a 50-35 lead to the locker room. Eight of the 13 points came at the free throw line.

Missouri-St. Louis' lead grew to as many as 23 in the second half en route to the 80-61 win.
