Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – Lake Erie downed Davis & Elkins on Friday afternoon by a score of 76-66.
Devin Miller registered 19 points off the bench to lead the way for the Senators. Tivius Guthrie (13), Juwan Strothers (12) and Bruce Komakech (11) also posted double figures for D&E. Alex Visiljevic pulled down a game-high seven rebounds.
Riley Thomas (17), Nick Wells (13) and Michael Morris (10) reached double digits for the Storm.
The Senators shot 49 percent from the field (20-of-41) and 79 percent from the free throw line (23-of-29). The Storm scored 30 points off of 24 Davis & Elkins turnovers.
D&E raced to a 10-3 lead early in the first half, with Strothers scoring five of the 10 points. LEC responded with a 12-3 jolt to take its first lead of the game at 15-13. Neither team led by more than six points the remainder of the half; the Storm took a 36-34 advantage to the break.
The Senators grabbed a 37-36 lead on their opening possession of the second half as Strothers hit a three. Lake Erie countered with a 9-2 surge keyed by a dunk from Roy Alexander to go back in front 45-39. The Senators battled back to within two at 45-43, but could get no closer as the Storm claimed the 76-66 win.
