Box Score ELKINS, W.Va.—Concord's starters combined for 78 points to down Davis & Elkins, 82-70 on Thursday night.
Three Senators reached double figures in the contest: Stephanie Wooten (18), Sharmaine Baker (14) and Alicia Lentz (10). Jorden Lykes pulled down a team-best 11 rebounds.
The Mountain Lions' starting five all reached double-digits, led by Adrea Bertrand's double-double (23-11). Jaqueline Kestner (17), Sissy Wagner (16), Sammy Webster (12) and Rachel Artrip (10) rounded out the double figure scoring for Concord. Wagner dished out a game-high eight assists.
CU held a slight 51-48 advantage on the glass, including 19 on the offensive end, which translated to 24 second-chance points. The Mountain Lions outscored the Senators 50-26 in the paint.
Concord built a 27-16 lead in the first half, ignited by draining their first three attempts from beyond the arc. D&E responded with a 14-6 surge, sparked by a Shanda Howell three, cutting the deficit to 33-30. CU scored the last eight points of the half to take a 45-35 lead into the locker room.
The Senators were unable to trim the CU advantage to fewer than seven in the second half as Concord claimed the 82-70 win.
Davis & Elkins travels to Florida next week to participate in the Rollins Thanksgiving Classic. The Senators will battle New Haven on November 29 at 3 p.m.
