RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky closed the first half on a 26-5 run to down Davis & Elkins, 94-66 on Monday night.

Sharmaine Baker registered a career-high 17 points. Stephanie Wooten added 12 points and Ashley Bowles chipped in with 11.

Marie Carpenter (20), Pilar Walker (16), Nicole Bowers (13) and Shelly Harper (12) all reached double digits for the Colonels.  Harper also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.

Eastern Kentucky scored 20 second chance points off of 17 offensive rebounds and outscored D&E 36-12 in the paint.

EKU opened up an 18-4 advantage in the first half. D&E answered, scoring 23 of the next 33 points to take a brief 29-28 lead. The Colonels seized control from that point, going on a 26-5 surge to build a 54-34 lead at the half.

Eastern Kentucky led by as many as 29 in the second half en route to the 94-66 win.  

The Senators host Concord on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
