ELKINS, WV - Taylor Morton scored three goals to lead Davis & Elkins to a 3-1 win over Ashland in women's soccer action on Saturday.
Morton scored her first goal of the game at the 23:15 mark when she placed the ball in the left corner to beat Ashland keeper Rebecca Plescia. She put D&E up 2-0 in the 62nd minute but Ashland responded six minutes later to make it 2-1.
Morton scored her final goal of the game at the 89:26 mark when she controlled a loose ball and beat Plescia to seal the win.
Both teams finished with 13 shots and Ashland held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks. Ashley Winkelspecht was solid once again in goal and finished with seven saves. Plescia finished with six saves for Ashland.
D&E improves to 4-0 while Ashland falls to 0-3. The Senators return to action on Wednesday when they host West Virginia Tech for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
