SALEM, VA - The Davis & Elkins softball team dropped two games on Saturday in the West Virginia Wesleyan tournament in Salem, Virginia. Shippensburg defeated D&E 3-0 to open the day and Mercyhurst won the nightcap 9-6.
Sophomore pitcher Alanna Jones held the Raiders to just three hits over seven innings, but the Senators could not get on the scoreboard. Jones finished with four strikeouts in defeat.
Senior Lizzy Williamson and junior Jenifer Kennon finished with two hits each.
In the second game of the day the Senators fell to Mercyhurst 9-6 as freshman Autumn Appleby took the loss on the mound.
Outfielder Lizzy Williamson paced the offense with three hits.
Outfielders Jenifer Kennon and Kaitlyn Daugherty finished with two hits each.
Shortstop Devony Pugh recorded two hits, including a two-run home run.
