FAIRMONT, WV- The Senators traveled to Fairmont State today for WVIAC baseball action.

Game one of the doubleheader had junior pitcher Tripp Staley on the mound for D&E.  Staley struggled with his control all day walking five Falcon hitters in four innings of work. 

Through the first three innings, Staley held the Falcons hitless but a lead-off walk in the third inning would ultimately lead to Fairmont tying the game.  The Falcons would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th following another walk and back-to-back doubles to go ahead 3-1.  Senior John Commins worked the 5th and 6th innings. 

On the day, Staley gave up three hits, four runs, two earned, walked five, and struck out one.  Commins in two innings of work gave up one hit and struck out two.

Offensively, senior Brenton Kopecek collected two hits while scoring a run.
