ELKINS, WV - The Davis & Elkins women's basketball team fell to Charleston 73-63 Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles shot 74.2 percent in the second half to earn the win.
The Senators led 36-20 as UC was held to 26.7 percent (8-30) from the field, but the Golden Eagles found the range in the second half to hand D&E their first loss of the season at The McDonnell Center.
Sophomore forward Jorden Lykes led D&E with 22 points and eight rebounds.  Junior guard Page Turner added nine points, seven assists, and four rebounds.
Nichole Perry led Charleston with 17 points while Chrissy Keir and Lauren Davis scored 14 points each.
UC finished the game at 50.8 percent (31-61) from the field.
D&E falls to 10-10 overall and 9-7 in the WVIAC and will host Bluefield State College Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in The McDonnell Center.
