No. 3 Glenville State 79, No. 6 Davis & Elkins 46
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Glenville State advanced to the semifinals of the WVIAC Tournament with an impressive 79-46 showing against Davis & Elkins, Wednesday afternoon.
The Pioneers (22-6) dominated the boards in the contest for a 61-46 advantage, while holding the Senators (14-14) to just 22 percent from the floor in the game. D&E concluded the contest shooting 5-of-36 from behind the arc in trying to keep pace with Glenville State.
First team all-conference performer Tenisha Wilson paced Glenville State in the victory with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Danielle Woodmore and Jelena Elez rounded out the double-digit scorers for GSC with 11 and 10 points, respectively. On the afternoon the Pioneers had 11 players register marks in the scorebook.
For Davis & Elkins, All-WVIAC honorable mention selection Jorden Lykes scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the defeat. Amy Turner added nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Glenville State advances to the WVIAC Tournament semifinals on Friday at 3 p.m.
