SALISBURY, NC -The Davis & Elkins softball team earned a split on Saturday in the Catawba Tournament as they lost to Mansfield University 2-1 and defeated East Stroudsburg University 17-7.

The Senators dropped the first game on Saturday as they fell 2-1 to Mansfield University.  Sophomore Alanna Jones took the loss in the mound as she surrendered one earned run on four hits.

The Senators offense exploded in the nightcap as they defeated East Stroudsburg 17-7.

Junior Jenifer Kennon fueled the offense with a 3-for-5 performace at the plate that included two home runs and five RBIs.

Junior Carissa Dunn and sophomore Corinne Carrington had two hits a piece and both finished with three RBIs.

As a team the Senators collected 13 hits in a game that ended early due to the "5 inning run-rule."

Sophomore pitcher Alanna Jones earned the win and recorded four strikeouts.

The Senators improve to 6-4 on the season.
