CHARLESTON, WV -The Davis & Elkins women's basketball team handed the University of Charleston their first home loss of the season on Monday night as they prevailed 69-57.
With four players in double figures, Jorden Lykes led the way for the Senators (4-4, 3-2) with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. She was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
Sophomore guard Maquasia Ferebee and junior center Alicia Lentz each scored 12 points for D&E, while senior forward Amy Turner added 11.
Ferebee added 10 rebounds and four steals, while Turner added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
LeAnne Ross led the Golden Eagles (5-4, 2-3) with 10 points on 4-of-14 shooting. UC shot 29.4 percent (10-34) in the second half and 31.9 percent (22-69) for the game.
D&E will return to action on December 30 when they travel to Cal (PA) for a key Atlantic Region game.
