Elkins, WV – Davis & Elkins College Men's Swimming held their home opener on Saturday, December 8, 2012 to more than 150 spectators, the largest in program history, as they took to the pool against the Mountaineer Swim Club of West Virginia University.

Davis & Elkins College Men's Swimming started strong against the Mountaineers as the Men made their mark during the 200 Yard Medley Relay capturing a best time by shaving more than a second from their previous record. The Men's Relay was comprised of Pate Mannon, Shade Combs, Kevin Eliason and Jacob Dent.

The rest of the meet proved to be a great success for the Senators as Jacob Dent swam his best time in the 200 Free slicing more than 12 seconds from his time. Pate Mannon captured a best time and personal best in the 50 Free as he out swam Greg Darnell and Kevin Peake of West Virginia University. Mannon also swam his season best in the 100 Backstroke while Shade Combs also had a season best in the 100 Breaststroke.

The Senators will return to the pool on January 11, 2013 as they travel to Buckhannon, WV to take on college rival West Virginia Wesleyan College at 6pm.
