JOHNSTOWN, PA -Davis & Elkins and Pitt-Johnstown squared off for the second time in three days – and the Senators upended the Lady Cats by a 3-2 score.
Game scores were 13-25, 25-23, 13-25, 25-21, 15-13 in favor of D&E.
Heather Zapf led the victors with a match-high 22 kills. Brandi Brown and Nicole Miller each hipped in five in the win. Haylee Murray dished out 48 of her team's 53 assists. Defensively, Kelsey Richards totaled 21 digs while Miller notched a double-double with 17 digs. Meaghan Emery amassed 15 digs while Murray narrowly missed a double-double with nine.
At the net, Callie Updike assisted on six blocks and Erin Legge assisted on five.
For the Lady Cats, Ashley DiRado and Kelsey Shanabrook each had 11 kills. Karen Schmidt added nine. Kayla Petrilla had 20 assist and Nikki Oakes tallied 18.
Defensively, Kelsey Kohler amassed 23 digs. Schmidt totaled 19 digs while Katie Svetahor and Shanabrook garnered 11 and 10, respectively. DiRado was huge at the net, assisting on seven blocks.
