BUCKHANNON, WV- The Senators took the short trip down Corridor H to take on the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC women's basketball action today.
The Bobcats (12-5, 9-3) jumped out to a 34-18 first half lead over the visiting Senators (10-8, 9-5) and never looked back on their way to a 64-54 win.
Jorden Lykes paced the Senators scoring efforts with 14 points on 6-of-17 shooting. Lykes also pulled down eight rebounds.
Rachel Gostomski was the only other Senator to register in double digits with a 12 point effort.
Jamie Kaufman of Wesleyan led all scorers with a 27 point effort on 10-of-16 shooting and 7-of-8 free throws. Kaufman also pulled in a game high 11 rebounds.
Lydia Bridenbaugh pitched in 15 and Brittany Maxey 13. Maxey also gathered 10 rebounds in the effort.
Before opening a three game homestand, the Senators will travel to Glenville State on Wednesday February 1st for a 5:30 pm WVIAC contest.
