WHEELING, WV- Coach Jason Asbell and his women's basketball team took on Wheeling Jesuit in WVIAC hoops action today.
The Senators (9-7, 8-4) overcame an early seven point deficit to beat the Cardinals (3-12, 0-11) 64-50.
Page Turner, a junior guard out of Poquoson, Virginia, led all scorers with 20 points. She shot 5-9 from the floor including 4-6 from three point land and 6-6 from the charity stripe.
Sophomore G Rachel Gostomski, a Newport News, VA native, added 14 points on 5-12 shooting including 4-9 from behind the three point line. Gostomski also pulled down eight rebounds on the day.
Sophomore F Jorden Lykes, Prince George, VA, pulled in a double-double by scoring 10 points while grabbing 11 rebounds.
Freshman F Sharmaine Baker, Williamsburg, VA, added six points for the winning Senators.
D&E will be back at home Monday night, January 23rd at 5:30pm taking on the Hilltoppers from West Liberty.
