ELKINS, WV -Recardo Gaddy scored a game-high 25 points to lead Wheeling Jesuit to a 84-76 win over Davis & ELkins in WVIAC men's basketball action at The McDonnell Center on Saturday.
Senior guard PJ Turner led D&E with 22 points, 11 assists, and two rebounds. Senior forward Malik Tinsley added 19 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, while junior guard D'Quan Lynch finished with 17 points.
Lynch was 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
Steve Catich added 18 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinals who improve to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the WVIAC.
WJU led 34-32 and D&E tied the game at the four minute mark but the Cardinals were able to make enough plays late to survive the Senators.
WJU hit on 51.7 percent (31-60) of its shots from the floor and D&E hit at 40.8 percent (29-71).
D&E finished with 40 rebounds and the Cardinals secured 41.
The Senators fall to 3-5 overall and 1-5 in the conference and will return to action on January 4, 2012 when they face West Virginia State.
