WEST PALM BEACH, FL- The opening round of the Pepsi Bash at the Beach tournament was not kind to the Senators on Friday.

The team traveled to sunny West Palm Beach, FL to compete in the tournament hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University.  In game one, the Senators fell to Carson-Newman University 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-27).

Senior Jana Lowe and Juniors Brandi Brown and Lindsey Russo all had nine kills.  Lowe and fellow senior Bre Tognoli had 24 and 15 assists, respectively, while Lowe also tallied 13 digs.

Game two was against WVIAC foe Seton Hill.  The Griffins were not kind to the Senators as D&E lost 3-1 (10-25, 22-25, 25-20, 16-25).  The losses dropped the Senators to 8-15, 2-3 on the season.

Senior Alex Barnard totaled 10 kills as Jana Lowe dished out 20 assists.  Junior Meaghan Emery led the team with 19 digs.

Saturday's action sees Davis & Elkins playing against host Palm Beach Atlantic at 10:00 am and Barry University at 2:00 pm.
