A former professional player, Cutshaw has held USTA State and Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings over the last 20 years and finished his college career with a combined record of 76-22.

Cutshaw has led the D&E men’s tennis team to back-to-back conference championships, and led the women to a conference title in 2014 with a runner-up finish in 2015.

In six seasons, Cutshaw’s overall record on the men’s side is 39-54. He has been named the G-MAC men’s tennis Coach of the Year each of the past two campaigns and has also coached two-time G-MAC Player of the Year,  Vincent Hamon.

On the women’s side, Cutshaw is 47-50 in six seasons and was named G-MAC Coach of the Year in 2014. Julia Hoehn was named G-MAC Player of the Year in 2015.

Cutshaw began his coaching career immediately after high school serving as the assistant coach at Calvert High School and the assistant teaching pro for the officer's club at Pax River Naval Base from 1990-1993. He started his playing career at Charles County Community College where he was a two-time state and regional champion and his team was ranked nationally. As a sophomore Cutshaw finished in the top 8 in the country as a doubles player.

While at D&E Cutshaw was a part of two teams that were regionally ranked and during his senior year he also served as a student assistant coach with the women's team who finished third in the conference. After graduation Cutshaw continued his coaching career as an assistant coach at Lexington High School in Ohio and also served as the teaching pro at the Lakewood Racquet Club.
