SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV - The Davis & Elkins softball team dropped a pair of games to Shepherd Saturday afternoon in WVIAC action on the road.  The Rams won the first game 9-0 and took the nightcap 10-2.

In the first game the Senators allowed the Rams to score nine runs on just two hits, while D&E managed just one hit.

The Rams got on the board first as they scored once in the first inning, added four in the second and three in the third. 

Sophomore pitcher Alanna Jones (two strikeouts) took the loss on the mound and senior Devony Pugh had the lone hit for the Senators.

Bianca Biondillo and Sam McQuade recorded the hits for Shepherd, while Tricia Bettura earned the win on the mound.

The Rams took the nightcap as they scored 10 runs on six hits.  Shepherd plated five runs in the second inning, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth.

Freshman pitcher Autumn Appleby took the loss and Tiffany Biggs earned the win for the Rams.

Mallory Wishard and Amanda Serafini each had a pair of hits for the Senators.

D&E falls to 14-15 overall and 0-2 in the WVIAC, while Shepherd improves to 15-12, 2-0.  The Senators stay on the road Sunday and face Seton Hill in a doubleheader that starts at 2 p.m.
