ASHEBORO, NC - The Davis & Elkins softball team earned a split with Winston-Salem State on Tuesday, dropping the first game 9-3 and winning the second game 13-4.

Freshman pitcher Autumn Appleby pitched both games for D&E and her record stands at 3-3 on the season.

The Senators struggled at the plate in the first game and finished with just three hits.

In the second game the Senators rebounded to pound out 10 hits and were led by Carissa Dunn, Samantha Crabtree and Daniella Vineyard who had two hits each.

Dunn had a home run and added three RBIs.
